Тематика этой недели для разработчиков. На этой неделе будут разобраны новые инструменты для создания приложения и API. На конференции BUILD показали, что новая версия Windows подходит для самых различных устройств: планшетных компьютеров, ноутбуков и настольных компьютеров. Были показаны новые инструменты, которые позволяют создавать свои приложения в стиле Metro используя HTML+Javascript, C/C++ и/или C#/XAML. Вы можете использовать любой из этих языков программирования — он всегда будет вписываться в ОС. Windows 8 будет удобен как для конечных пользователей, так и для разработчиков.
Многие интересуются про Windows 8 на процессорах ARM. На конференции были показаны устройства, базирующиеся на процессоре ARM. Но новые средства разработки позволяют писать приложения в стиле Metro, который будут одинаково хорошо запускаться как и под ARM, так и под x86 (32 и 64 бит). Даже если вы выберете нативный C/C++ для разработки приложения, вы можете ориентироваться на конкретное устройство.
Вы наверняка не можете дождаться пощупать предварительную версию. Совсем скоро, возможно, утром 14 сентября (МСК) вы сможете загрузить Windows 8 Developer Preview. Будут версии: 64-битная версия с средствами разработки и 32/64-битные версии без средств разработки. Также туда будут включены примеры приложений (демонстрация потенциально возможных приложений, которое могут поставляться вместе с ОС). ISO образы будут выложены на , как только запустится новый центр разработчиков.
Пре-релизные версии не позволяют обновиться с Windows 7, возможно только чистая установка. Внимание: данная версия только для разработчиков и не предназначена для привычного использования. Это не бета-версия. Microsoft будет выпускать обновления в течении ближайших нескольких недель/месяцев для тестирования механизмов обновления.
Примечание: в этой версии будут не все фичи, показанные на конференции BUILD, основное внимание в данной сборке уделено на API и инструменты разработчика для создания приложений в стиле Metro.

- 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
Notes about installing the Windows Developer Preview
- You can’t uninstall the Windows Developer Preview. To reinstall your previous operating system, you must have restore or installation media.

How to install the Windows Developer Preview from an ISO image
The Windows Developer Preview is delivered as an .iso image that must be converted into installation media stored on a DVD or a USB flash drive. On Windows 7, the easiest way to convert this file is to use . On Windows XP and Windows Vista, a third-party program is required to convert an .iso file into installable media—and DVD burning software often includes this capability.
Note: The .iso file that contains the developer tools requires a large capacity DVD called a DVD-9, as well as a DVD burner that can handle dual-layer (DL) DVDs. Most modern burners should be able to handle this format.
